Genevieve (Taylor) Zimmerman\ Went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Satchells Christian Retirement Home in Caro. Genevieve Pauline Zimmerman was born to Mildred and Floyd Taylor on December 25, 1915 and lived in Tuscola County nearly all her life. She graduated from Vassar High School, Tuscola County Normal, and Central Michigan University. She taught in several rural schools including Whitney, Wilson, Elkhorn, and Keilitz and then in Vassar Public Schools, retiring in June 1980.\ Genevieve was united in marriage to Glen Zimmerman of Missouri on March 22, 1940. He preceded her in death in September 1976. She was a long time member of the Vassar First Baptist Church where she served on the Library committee, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was formerly a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Gleaners and the Michigan Association of the Retired School Personnel (MARSP).\ Surviving are her children:\ Glenda Lewis of Caro,\ Mary and Aaron Klouse of Millington,\ Also surviving are 5 grandchildren:\ Larry Sanback of Grand Haven,\ Linda Sanback of Saginaw,\ Erik and Jenny Klouse of Decatur, Illinois\ Jennifer Klouse of Bolingbrook, Illinois\ Glen and Annette Mansfield of Taylor\ Many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.\ Her sister in law Bette Taylor of Caseville,\ Brother-in-law Terry Long of Cape Girardeau, Missouri,\ Special cousin Edna Wright of Mayville,\ Many nieces and nephews.\ Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Glen, her daughter Gail Mansfield, her two brothers Floyd and Eldon Taylor, and her parents.\ \ Services will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00am officiated by Rev. David Somers and Rev. Douglas Stockwell at the First Baptist Church of Vassar, with burial at Riverside Cemetery following. Family will be welcoming friends and loved ones at Martin Funeral Home, Saturday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Vassar and Children International, envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.\
