Obituary of Jean Joyce Compton

Of Genesee, age 80, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Todd Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to receive friends on Thurdsay from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm and again from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jean was born September 10, 1926 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Grace (Elwood) Laird. She and Marion "Mick" Compton were united in marriage December 4, 1948. She worked at AC and Terndstedt for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1984 and was a member of the UAW. Jean, along with her husband, loved snowmobiling throughout Michigan, their annual family Christmas gatherings, big band music, dancing and lighthouses. Her family was always first in her thoughts. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marion "Mick," four children: Kenneth and wife Clarice Compton of Pentwater, Gary and wife Shirley Compton of Au Gres, Marlene and husband John Pilon of Genesee,\ James and wife Tressa Compton Lapeer, eight grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Ann and Donald Jones, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister and three other sisters.\
