Obituary of Maxine Virginia Wheeler

WHEELER, Maxine Virginia Of Mt. Morris, age 80, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at her home. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to receive friends Wednesday from 9:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Visiting Nurses Association of Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Maxine was born August 4, 1926 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn and Margrette (Johnson) Decker. She and Elmer Junior Wheeler were united in marriage April 1, 1945 in Illinois. Maxine worked as the rehabilitation coordinator for the Michigan Department of Social Services for over 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles and traveling to visit family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Elmer, four children: Judy Wheeler of Lame Deer, Montana,\ James and wife Twyla Wheeler of Cape Coral, Florida, Mark Wheeler of Dothan, Alabama, Suzanne and husband Bill Dimitrakis of Painesville, Ohio, four grandchildren: Andy and wife Chrissy Wheeler, \ Scott Wheeler, both of Pennsylvania, Nicole and Alec Dimitrakis of Painesville, Ohio, brother: Merle and wife Carol Decker of Standish, two sisters-in-law: Mary Decker of Flint and Shirley Decker of Colorado, Special friend, Doris Montague of Mt. Morris, several nieces, nephews and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Lloyd and Gerald.
