Burks, Louise\ \ Age 87 of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Fenton Extended Care in Fenton, Michigan. Mrs. Burks was born June 28, 1919 in Akron, Michigan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry S. and Betsey E. (Nowland) Uhan.\ She graduated from Akron High School, Class of 1937 and the attended beauty college and worked as a Licensed Cosmetologist for many years.\ \ Louis married Luke O. Burks on December 21, 1957 in Akron, Michigan.\ She worked for AC Spark Plug in Flint, Michigan for 30 years, retiring in 1974. \ \ Louise enjoyed oil painting, working with stained glass, crocheting, sewing, and fishing.\ \ She is survived by her nephews, Timothy Uhan, William Rackow, Cleo Rackow; niece, Marilyn Wareham; step-son Jack Burks; step-daughter, Sherry Lee Harcourt; and step niece, Mary Davis.\ \ She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Luke on July 13, 1973; two brothers, Theron Uhan and Lawrence Uhan; and one sister, Pauline Rackow.\ \ Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Martin Funeral Home Aa"Fairgrove with Rev. Dan Gonder officiating with burial following in the Brookside Cemetery. Louise's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to The American Arthritis Foundation .
