Age 91 of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her home. Family and friends will gather at graveside at the Flushing Cemetery on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 10:00am, Pastor Tim Evans will officiate. Fern's family will receive friends at the Miles Martin funeral home on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 9:00am to 8:00pm. Memorial donations may be considered to Hospice of Davison in the name of Fern Mellon, envelopes are available at the funeral home. \
Fern was born August 8, 1915 in Flushing the daughter of Mr. Raymond Houser and Mrs. Florence Chatfield. She was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Mellon in 1933, remaining married until his death in 1999. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. \
Fern leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons Kenneth J. Mellon, and Jerry and wife Kathy Mellon, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Brothers Clifford, Edgar, and Max Houser, sister Frances Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Jerod Mellon and the folks from Hospice. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jerry Houser, sisters Bernice Hager, and Lucille Juckette. Floral offerings may be delivered to the funeral home after 2:00pm on Sunday, and all day Monday.\
