SAMPSON, JAMES O.\ \ Age 95 of Mt. Morris, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 1, 2007 at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris with Pastor Dave Burkett officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. James family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 2:00 pm- 8:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Envelopes are available at the \ funeral home. James was born June 3, 1912, in Seneca, Illinois, the son of George and Fanny (Bothwell) Sampson. He and Elfreda Carlson were united in marriage on April 21, 1935 in Morris, Illinois and moved to Michigan in 1945. Jim worked at Consumers Power retiring in 1974. He was an avid golfer. James worked for The Civil Defense Organization during World War II in the shipyards on submarines. Surviving are daughter Penny Szewczyk of Mt. Morris, grandchildren Techla (Jeff) Pashby of Mt. Morris, Tony Szewczyk of Georgia, Marie (Darrell) Bigbee of Oklahoma, Jim Jr. Sampson of Flint and John Sampson of Flint, 7 great grandchildren, sister Marge (Walt) Harcourt or Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years Freda, son James B. sister Roselyn Kline, and brother Lyle Sampson.\ \ Friends may share memories, prayers, and stories at the funeral home and online @ www.martinfuneralhome.com\
