Of Mt. Morris, age 84, died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Hospice of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence. The Funeral Mass will take place 11:00am Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate. A private burial will follow. Family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-6pm. There will be a Scriptural Rosary at 2:30 pm on Sunday. On Monday family and friends will meet at the Church for a memorial service at 11:00am. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to Parkinson Disease Foundation or Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.\ \ Donald was born July 19, 1923 in Mt. Morris, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Myrtle (Lemley) Callahan. He and Nina Pearce were united in marriage November 30, 1946. His loving wife preceded him in death May 27, 2002 after 56 years of marriage. Donald was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army in Europe. He retired from General Motors after 38 years of service as a Skilled Trades Millwright. Donald was a member of the UAW, CM Ambulance Volunteers for 9 years and was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, making birdhouses, watching birds and loved his grandchildren. \ \ Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Reed of Lansing, Patricia and Gregg Snow of Sandusky, Ohio, and son, Timothy and Nancy Callahan of Beijing, China;\ Grandchildren, Amy and Adam Simon of Ionia, Lindsey Reed of Lansing, Mark Snow of Sandusky, Ohio,Heather Snow of Denver, Colorado, Kurt Callahan of Austrailia,;\ Sister-in-law Gerry Callahan of Mt. Morris;\ Best friends, Florence Roberts of Davison and Terry Tate of New Lothrup.\ Special children Scott, Lindsie, Laurie, and Samantha Smith. \ He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers John, William and Leo. \ \
