Obituary of Betty Jane Spencer

Age 75, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at her home in Fairgrove. Betty was born in Gilford, Michigan, August 14, 1932, the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Dinsmore (Stott). Betty was a graduate of Fairgrove High School, class of 1951. She and Lyle "Petea Spencer were united in marriage September 22, 1951 at the Gilford United Methodist Church. Betty was a life member of the Gilford United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ and also taught Sunday school. She worked side by side with her husband "Petea on the farm and at the sawmill. Among her favorite pleasures were walks in the woods and farming. \ \ Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Lyle "Petea Spencer, daughter, Sandra (Ed) Nizzola, Larry (Diane) Spencer, grandchildren Eddie (Marideth) Nizzola, Mandy (Randy) McIvor, Melanie Nizzola, Sarah, Katie, and Emily Spencer. Also, two great grandchildren, Eddie(Bear) and Aubrey Nizzola. \ \ A Life Celebration will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at funeral home . Rev. Daniel Gonder will officiate with burial to follow at Gilford Cemetery. The Spencer family will greet family and friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Visiting Nurses of Bay City or Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.\
