Obituary of Robert Flynn

Of Clio, age 71, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the U.P. woods while hunting. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Bob's family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Monday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. On Monday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home for a Scriptural Rosary at 6:00pm followed by a K of C Memorial Service conducted by the Holy Family Council #4285. On Tuesday, Bob will be taken to church to lie in state from 12:00 noon until the time of Funeral Mass at 1:00pm. \ \ Bob was born May 6, 1936 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. and Mabel F. (Murphy) Flynn. He and Verla Dunn were united in marriage October 24, 1959 at St. Mary's in Mt. Morris. Bob retired in 1996 from AC Spark Plug where he worked as a tool grinder with 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris and was an active member of the K of C Holy Family #4285 and was voted their Knight of the Year for 2006. Bob was proud of his Irish Heritage, was an avid hunter, a devoted family man and took great pride in his lawns. \ \ Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Verla, five children; Bob and wife Chris Flynn, Kathy and husband Merle West, Chuck and wife Carrie Flynn, Mike and wife LaDonna Flynn, Tom and wife Dawn Flynn, 15 grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Pat and husband Don Schaffer, Leo and wife Ann Flynn, Jerry and wife Wanda Flynn, Margaret and husband Frank Belanger, Donna Alward, Mike Flynn, Rita and husband Carl Uherek, and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. \ \ Bob was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Dennis.
