Obituary of Patsy Putman
Age 88, of Flint, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Olive Branch Assisted Living. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Dr. Perrico Robinson to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Patsy’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be considered to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Patsy was born in Duck Springs, Alabama, on April 10, 1935, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Lilly (Cash) Camp. Patsy met and married the love of her life, Marrell Putman, on February 2, 1957. Their union was blessed with eight beautiful children. Patsy worked as a playground supervisor for the Board of Education for Bentley Schools until her retirement in 1990. She attended and was a member of the New Testament General Baptist Church for many years. Patsy had a wonderful sense of humor and as a part of that, she would often hide behind the front door and scare her children when they came home. She loved to scare people. Patsy was very outgoing and a people person and found the good in everyone. She was loving and kind and was a social butterfly. Her favorite pastime was sitting on her front porch drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. Her favorite phrase was “You just wait till your dad gets home.” Patsy was always up for a good garage sale, and she loved to gamble and cook, which she was great at. Patsy was a dedicated mother and loved her family fiercely. She will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Patsy's memory are her loving husband of 67 years, Marrell Putman; children: Donny and wife, Linda McDaniel, Sheila Whitten, Lucinda and husband, Ed Smith, Tammie Coates, Terri and husband, Tony Alexander, Connie and husband, Bob Gilling, Tracey and wife, Nancy Putman, Chastity and husband, Kevin Gilbert; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
