Obituary of Vickie Lynn Scott
Age 66, of Montrose, formerly of Mt. Morris, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at home with her family by her side. Vickie’s family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Vickie was born in Flint on September 11, 1957, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Vera (Benson) Huntley. Educated locally, Vickie attended Flushing High School and graduated with the Class of 1975. She met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Scott. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 26, 2022. Vickie worked at General Motors for 25 years until her retirement and then went to work for Munson Hospital as a cook, which was her true calling. She loved to bake and cook for others and taught her granddaughters all she knew. She even took a cake decorating class so she could practice with her granddaughters. She also enjoyed fishing, especially in the Frankfort area. Vickie loved her family and spending time with them at family events was her favorite pastime. She enjoyed reading mysteries and thrillers and was a movie fanatic who enjoyed watching Westerns, old movies, and Christian movies. Vickie was a collector of many items, including antiques and Christmas decorations, and loved to learn new things. She took many classes, including painting so she could learn the technique and paint like Bob Ross. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and embroidering and even made her own curtains. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Vickie's memory are her children: Jennifer Pierce, Kirk and wife, Michelle Scott; grandchildren: Shaunteas, Devan, Abriana, JJ, Chloe; great-grandchildren: Kamden, Khaza, Devan Jr, Everett, Elias; special niece, Tina Lowery; siblings: Terrie and husband, Edward Soper, Patrick and wife, Lynn Huntley, Donald Huntley, John and wife, Heather Berry; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Vickie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth; parents; and brother, Michael Huntley.
