Ronald “Ron” was born in Twining, Michigan on June 2, 1949, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette and Alice (Daniels) Ramin. Ron attended Beecher High School and graduated with the Class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, Ron would start his career at Pontiac Motors. In 1969, Ron heeded the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army where Specialist Ramin proudly served on the tank crew in Korea during the Vietnam Era. Upon his honorable discharge on March 10, 1971, he returned to Michigan where he resumed his career working at Pontiac Motors for 30 years and then transferred to Bay City Power Train until his retirement in August 1998. On July 18, 1972, Ron would marry Rita Helzer, and although their marriage did not last, they remained lifelong friends and raised their beautiful children together. On April 30, 1999, Ron married his best friend, Carol Bigelow. Ron was a family man and never missed a birthday party or any other gathering. Spending time with his family was his greatest treasure. Ron was an avid golfer, and not only did he enjoy playing golf, he enjoyed watching it on TV every chance he got. In August of 2014, Ron was playing at his favorite golf course, Beechwood Greens, and shot two holes-in-one in one week, earning him a trophy that he proudly displayed. When he wasn’t playing or watching golf, Ron could be found attending a car show and displaying his “Michigan Blue” 1981 Corvette. He was also a member of the Double Duce Cruisers. In his free time, Ron enjoyed watching U of M Football or the Detroit Lions. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and everyone’s uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Ron’s memory are his beloved wife, Carol; children: Kevin and wife, Gina Helzer, Kristal and husband, Ed Niemi; grandchildren: Eddie and wife, Erica, Kara and husband, Markus, Nick and wife, Brooklynn, Sarrah Helzer, Alex Helzer; great-grandchildren: John, Leo, and Archer; siblings: Bev Kohns, Dennis Ramin, Sharon Ramin, Jim and wife, Ginger Ramin, Larry and wife, Penny Chaney, Duane Ramin; sister-in-law, Vicki and husband, Greg Cline; friend, Rita Walker; golf partners: John Mattingly and Harold Blandford; many loved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
