Obituary of Patrick Allen Prast
Age 65, of Clio, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Ascension Genesys. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Mr. Phillip Pritchard to officiate. Patrick’s family will be present to receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Patrick was born on the Eastside of Flint on November 29, 1957, the son of Mrs. Betty (Baker) Prast. Educated locally, Patrick attended Flint Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1975. He was a Flint Eastsider at heart. Patrick worked as a bus driver for the Genesee Intermediate School District for 10 years until his retirement in 2019. He enjoyed listening to music and creating his own jingles. Patrick was an avid car guy and loved attending car shows and talking about muscle cars with his family and friends. Making wind chimes, and rings, and repurposing furniture were just a few of Patrick’s favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed reading his Bible and playing frisbee with his brothers. Above all else, Patrick’s family was what he loved most, and he enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Betty Prast; significant other, Rachel Montague; children: Jessica and husband, Chris Smith, and Miranda Prast; siblings: Casey and wife, Karen Prast, Sean and wife, Dianne Prast, and Kelly Prast; special friend, David Bowe; nephew, Kerry Prast; and many other family members and friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his two brothers: Kerry and Michael Prast.
