Age 67, of Clio, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at home with her family by her side. In accordance with Laura’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Laura’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.

Laura was born in Flint on September 20, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde and Altha Maxine (Guest) Wood. Educated locally, Laura attended Hamady High School and graduated with the Class of 1974. She fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Dale LaMay, and they have been together for 49 years. Laura worked on the shipping and receiving dock at Kmart until her retirement in 2008. Her family was her whole world, and spending time with them was the highlight of her life. She never missed a family gathering. She also loved her dogs. There was never a time when she didn’t own a dog or several. Laura loved to cook, especially anything with pepperoni and mozzarella. She also enjoyed playing pool and was pretty good at it. Laura was the kindest person you would ever meet and was always there for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Laura is survived by her fiance, Dale LaMay; siblings: Sheila and husband, Steve Bates, Steve Wood, Donna Wood, Jeff and wife Betsy, Wood, Kevin Wood; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: David Wood, Cheryl Thorpe, and Carol Streeter.
