Obituary of Sharron Elaine Perez

Age, 65, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at McLaren Flint with her family by her side. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Sharron’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mount Morris. Sharron’s family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm.

Sharron was born in Flint, on May 2, 1957, as one of five siblings, the daughter of Barbara (Staggs) Dorn and Carmen Staggs. Sharron was a dedicated public servant who volunteered for numerous causes to promote progressive change. Sharron was a selfless, kind, and caring mother to her four children.

Sharron loved gardening, drawing, photography, reading, nature, and all animals and wildlife. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sharron was smart, funny, and a kind-hearted, gentle soul with a tremendous love for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers, sisters, neighbors and really anyone who knew her.

Sharron is survived by her husband, Larry Caves, daughter, Jessica Perez-Meier, three sons, Joshua Perez, Justin Perez, and Adam Perez and wife, Amanda; grandchildren Benny, Alec, Adrian, Niyah, and Raelan; great-grandchild, Connor Meier; mother, Barbara (Staggs) Dorn; brothers William C. Staggs, Steven R. Staggs; sisters Barbara A. Lewarne and Elizabeth A. Perez; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Sharron was preceded in death by her father, Carmen Staggs (January 2, 1937-September 19, 2010), and grandson, Chase Meier (May 21, 1999-August 2, 2016).
