Obituary of Beatrice Ione Hammond
Age 94, of Flint, died Sunday, August 14, 2022, at home. In accordance with Beatrice’s wishes cremation has taken place and no further services will be scheduled. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting Beatrice’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.
Beatrice “B” was born in Almont, Michigan on August 22, 1927, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John and Esther (Wynne) Hayward. Raised and educated in the Genesee County area Beatrice graduated from Flint Technical Schools with the Class of 1945. B went on to work as a barmaid at Dog House. She enjoyed entertaining and serving the people. B loved sports and was an avid bowler and golfer for several years. She loved going to the casinos and traveling. B always found joy in everything she did. She was a kind soul with a big heart, she will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Donald and wife, Mona Dohrman Jr., Dianne Snider, Duane Dohrman, and Dennis and wife, Inez Dohrman Sr.; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her partner of over 20 years: Joe Derbyshire; siblings: Earl, Lawrence, Larry, Lucille, Marion, Irene, and Edith.
