Obituary of Victoria "Vickey" Lynn Warren
Age 70, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Newman Regional Health Center. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 11, 2021, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar. Pastor Brian Southerland to officiate. Vickey’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to any Mental Health Awareness Charity of your choice. Vickey was born in Ferndale, Michigan on May 5, 1951, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Charles and Lucille Ethel (LaBumbar) Drumb. Educated locally, she graduated from Vassar High School with the Class of 1969. Vickey started her career right out of high school, working as a Direct Care Aid for Caro Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1995. Vickey enjoyed taking yearly vacations every summer with her family, usually consisting of the Upper Peninsula, Tahquamenon Falls, Michigan City, Gaylord. Vickey had a love for cooking and baking and would often share her recipes with others. In fact, she loved to cook so much that she shared her love of cooking with her "extended family" in Kansas, making them meals as often as she was able. She will always be remembered for her Christmas cookies and pork sausage and fried potatoes. In her free time, Vickey enjoyed reading, cross-stitch and knitting, but most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and her cat, Little Bit.
Left to cherish Vickey’s memory are her son, Brian and wife, Heather Hitsman; daughters: Heather and husband, Scott Drewes, Patty and husband, Jason Wills; grandsons: Thomas and wife, Candace, Gunthor "Gunny", Michael; sisters: Patsy Klemmer, Tonda Drumb; several nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Vickey was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Pam Fadlo.
