Katrina "Tina" was born in Flint on February 28, 1956, the daughter of Jeannine Ruth (Barth) Woodruff. She was educated locally; raised in Grand Blanc before moving to Mt. Morris in the late 1960s. Tina met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Kern, Jr. while he was pushing an ice cream cart in town. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 23, 1972, in Bradenton, Florida. Tina began working for Buick in 1991 as a cook for 20-years. After the closing of the Buick plant, Bob and Tina opened Bob Kern's Auto Repair shop. They both dedicated time and efforts to make it a successful business in Mt. Morris. In her free time, Tina enjoyed spending time outdoors and camping all over Michigan, spending time at their cabin in Tawas and Otter Lake, Michigan, bird watching, and sitting on the pier fishing for perch. She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Mt. Morris. Most of all, Tina loved playing Barbies with her granddaughters.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Kern, Jr.; children:  Billie (John) Walker, Bobbieann Kern, Robert Kern, III, and Vadice Burgett, III; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; mother, Jeannine Barth; siblings: Art, Jeff, and Denise; life-long friends: Dawn Seeley, and Dawn Kern; several nieces; nephews; and friends.

Tina was preceded in death by favorite dogs: Sugar Marie and Buddy.
