Obituary of Dorothy J. Salsbury

Of Mt. Morris, age 88, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at her residence. A Life Celebration will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Darrel Harvey will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. DorothyAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. The Mt. Morris Chapter of the Eastern Star will conduct a Memorial Service on Tuesday evening at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Mt. Morris Masonic Building Association or Mt. Morris O.E.S. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dorothy was born March 10, 1919 in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neltson and Millison (Loveland) Morse. She and Rowley Salsbury were united in marriage on August 10, 1940 in Mt. Morris. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Morris for over 77 years and a Life Member of the Mt. Morris Chapter O.E.S. #474. She was also a former guardian of JobAaas Daughters, Bethel #75. Dorothy was a founding member of the Neighborhood Secret Pal Club that was established 50 years ago. Left to cherish her memory are four children, Wayne (Madelon) Salsbury, Karen (Steve) Odette, Tamara (Don) Iaquinto and Tina (Tim) Ashbury; sixteen grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; "sisters," Geneva Schaller, Shirley Novotny and Janice McDougall. DorothyAaas family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bonnie and Queenie for all the loving care shown toward Mom. On June 6, 1983, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rowley. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
