Obituary of Michele Lynn Newcomb

Please share a memory of Michele to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

COVID-19 UPDATE: With the recent guidelines limiting the number of people to less than 10 at any gathering, we are asking that you consider other ways to help support family and friends during this difficult time as an alternative to attending a visitation or funeral.

Age 50, of Millington, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at her home. Shelly was born in Flint, on September 29, 1969, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Barbara (Winterlee) Cayer. She was raised in Mt Morris and graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School with the Class of 1987. Shelly married the love of her life, Todd Newcomb, on February 14, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shelly worked as a secretary for Flint Air Service, McCloud USA, and Tom Ryan Distributing for many years; she would then go on to work at St. Michael's in Richville, as a child care provider. Shelly loved vacationing in Florida and being with her family and friends. Her number one priority was being a wonderful wife and mom. Shelly was a devout Catholic and a Miami Dolphins fan. In her free time, Shelly enjoyed trying new restaurants and keeping up with her family and friends on Facebook.

Shelly leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 22 years: Todd; son: Zachery Newcomb; parents: Skip and Barbara (Winterlee) Cayer; father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Kathy Newcomb; brothers-in-law: Joe and wife, Robin Newcomb, Matt and wife, Kari Newcomb, and Chad Newcomb; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends; her beloved chows: Max, Mya, Maggie, and Milo.

Shelly was preceded in death by her grandparents.

In fulfillment of her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy and memorial contributions in Shelly’s name can be made to the ASPCA on Shelly’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.
