Obituary of Daniel Lee Mims

Of Flint, age 47, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Saturday, January 9 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Burton Ward in Flint. Bishop Todd Anderson will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Friday from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. On Saturday, Dan will be taken to church where he will lie in state from 12:00noon until time of service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be considered to a family fund for the education of his daughters. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. For health reasons, the family requests visitors to refrain from wearing any fragrances to the funeral home and church. Dan was born March 16, 1962 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Addie (Williams) Mims. He and Turauna Pulley were united in marriage June 23, 1984 in Swartz Creek. He was employed by Auto Pride in Flushing, for many years. He will be greatly missed! Dan leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years, Turauna, four daughters, Natalie and fiance Cedric Murphy, Stacie, Rachel, and Keli, grandson Christian Michael, brother Jimmy and wife Connie Mims, three sisters Vickie and husband Richard Fletcher, Pamela Crandell, and Jeanie Visnaw and Paul Clark, and many special nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother David, and infant brother Bobby Ray.
