Obituary of Joyce Ione Morris

Of Mount Morris, age 77, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Mr. Garfield Cooper will officiate with burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. JoyceAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joyce was born May 31, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Grace (Crosley) Gates. She and Charles L. Cosner, Sr. met while serving in the United States Army and were united in marriage for over 44 years. She later was united in marriage to Walter L. Morris on May 7, 1999 in Flint. Joyce was a very devoted and loving mother and wife. Much of her life was spent working for Bell Telephone and for PhysicianAaas Answering Service. Joyce was a faithful member of the Averill Avenue Church of Christ, and later the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Walter L. Morris; children, Brenda (Roger) Lawrence, Charles (Paula) Cosner Jr., David (Rebecca) Cosner, Dana (Vicky) Cosner, Lori Cosner Keller; step children; Jim (Rosie) Morris, Gloria Back, Arlene (Rory) Ketchens, Keith (Jaelyn) Morris; 13 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles L. Cosner, Sr. and daughter, Rebecca Theriac.
