Obituary of Earl N. Fisher

Of Flint, age 89, went to be home with the Lord Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Hopewell General Baptist Church. Rev. Scott Southerland will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to greet friends at the funeral on Thursday from 5:00 until 9:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Hopewell General Baptist Church or Avalon Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Earl was born March 9, 1919 in Mannington, West Virginia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Nancy (Snodgrass) Fisher. He served his country proudly during World War II from 1942 until 1945. Earl worked 13 years in the oil refineries and he retired from General Motors as a boiler repairman after 27 years of service. Earl was a #1 Certified Detroit Tigers Fan. He went on to teach young children baseball and Golden Gloves Boxing. Earl also enjoyed flowers, gardening and his family. Left to cherish EarlAaas memory are his wife of 65 years Dorothy; Children, Mary and Dennis Iski, Terry and Jackie Fisher and Cheryl and LaVerne Morse; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 4 brothers. EarlAaas family would like to thank Dave, Kathy and staff from Avalon Hospice for their special care.
