Obituary of Mary Frances Short
Age 86, of Clio, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Mary's family will be present at the funeral home, on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Jim Smith officiating.
Mary was born in North Carolina, on August 8, 1932, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis and Ella Sue (Calhoun) Shepard. She married the love of her life, Charlie Short, in 1947, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Sadly, he preceded her in death in June 2002. In her free time, she loved spending time with family and friends, quilting, sewing, needle crafting, and flower gardening. She also enjoyed reading the Bible, as well as many other religious books.
Left to cherish her memory four children: Barbara Ann (Jimmy) Smith, Judy (Martin) McDowell, Jimmy Lewis (Kristina) Short, and Nancy (Rob) Short-Swanson; grandchildren: Scott, Misty, Shane, Travis, Jason, April, Ashley, Justin; seven great-grandchildren: close friends: Linda (Glen) Walther; family dogs: Nikki and Shaker; and many other family members and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; son, Robert Wayne; five sisters, and six brothers.
