Obituary of Gary Edward Havens
Age 75, of Flint, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. A funeral celebrating Gary’s life will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Reverend Eric Miller will officiate, with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be directed to Kindred Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
He was born on September 30, 1943, in Argentine, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon and Dorothy (Bacon) Havens. Gary was united in marriage to Judy Williams. Sadly, she proceeded him in death. He worked for General Motors, Fisher Body, for 30 years before retiring in 1996. Gary loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around and building his new ideas.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Allen and wife, Andrea Havens, Laura and husband, Max Burnash, Danny and wife, Dawn Anders and Lisa Anders; grandchildren: Ashley, Jeffrey, Brandon, and wife, Catelynn, Brett, Jenessa, Heidie, Breanna, Devon, Claudia Meya, Ben, David and wife, Kristi, and Zach; great-grandchildren: Emily, Daxton, Landon, Grace, Kimberly, Johnny, Xander, Adelina and Jacob; fiancée of 20 years: Sue Anders.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Havens, and parents, Mahlon Havens and Dorothy Root.
