Alane E. Baranski 1933 Aa" 2008 Alane E. Baranski age 74 of Vassar died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Bay Special Care in Bay City. Alane was born August 21, 1933 in Vassar the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.D. and Esther (White) Surgent. She and William AaA"BillAaA Baranski were united in marriage on June 16, 1951. Alane was a waitress and hostess at Zehnders of Frankenmuth for over 40 years. Alane leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years Bill, 5 children Susan McClure, Marsha and husband Larry Leach, Jim and wife Monica Baranski, Sally and husband Greg Franko, and Joni and husband John Fritz, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Laurel Langworthy, Dody Turner, and Judy Cranick, 1 brother Dan Surgent, and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11:00am at the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, Rev. Fr. Steven Killey officiating, with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. AlaneAaas family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Friday, from 1:30pm to 5:00pm, and 6:00pm until 9:00pm. On Friday evening, family, friends and the parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00pm. Alane will be taken to church on Saturday morning, where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be considered to the St. Frances Cabrini Building Fund, envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
