Obituary of Helen Marie Coleman

Of Mt. Morris, age 83, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Mr. Garfield Cooper and Mr. Curtis Watson will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. HelenAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and at the church on Monday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Helen was born November 23, 1924 in Arbyrd, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Dona (Young) Kimbrow. She and James R. Coleman were united in marriage on February 6, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. Helen worked as a secretary for the Mt. Morris Schools for 15 years and also worked at Miles Martin Funeral Home for several years. Helen was a devoted and dedicated member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening and reading. Left to cherish HelenAaas memory are her children; Michael and wife Deborah Coleman of Sarasota, Florida, Linda and husband Michael Prentice of Clermont, Florida, David Coleman of Sarasota, Florida and Mindy Coleman of Mt. Morris; sister, Sue McCurry of Stafford, Kansas; four grandchildren, Scott Bohnsack, Brian Bohnsack, Kelly Coleman and Kylie Coleman and several great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James and several siblings.
