Obituary of Larry A. Kennard

Of Vassar, age 86, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Cartwright Care Center in Saginaw. Larry was born May 3, 1922 in Vassar, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Jessie (Taylor) Kennard. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He and Diana L. Korf were united in marriage April 4, 1964. Surviving are wife Diana; one son, Lynn (Audrey) Kennard; one daughter, Celest (Steve) Roskiewicz; five grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Wilber and one sister-in-law, Laurice Kennard; brothers-in-law, Richard (Dianne) Korf, Jerome (Janet) Korf and a sister-in-law, Gloria (Patrick) O'Connor. Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley E. Kennard. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar with cremation to follow. Larry's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider the American Cancer Society, the Cartwright Care Center in Saginaw or a charity of the donor's choice. .
