Richard A. AaA"RickAaA Swann, Jr., 41, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Michelle E. (Wade) Swann to whom he was married for eight years on September 30, 2008. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Miles Martin Funeral Home, 1194 E. Mt. Morris Rd, Mt. Morris with Deacon James Brown officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Tuesday and 2-4:00 PM and 7-9:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Flint Memorial Park. Born May 19, 1967 in Flint, a son of Richard A. Swann Sr. of Mt. Morris, MI and the late Sharon A. (Fournier) Swann, he retired in December of 2006 from Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department after serving for 17 AA years as a police officer. He had also served with the Hyattsville Police Department in Maryland. Mr. Swann was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Washington D.C. and had trained and competed in mixed martial arts with the York Mixed Martial Arts Academy and also the Lloyd Irvin MMA Academy. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp. In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Swann is survived by a son, Quinton A. Swann at home; a brother, Bradley Swann of Burton, MI; a sister, Christine Swann of Ft. Wayne, IN; a favorite aunt, Betty Trundy of Rochester, NH; and additional aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, a trust is being established for Quinton A. Swann in memory of Rick. Any contributions for the trust may be made to the family.
