Of Millington, age 58, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at St. Mary Hospital. The funeral service will take place 1:00 PM , Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Martin Funeral Home - Vassar. Pastor Darrel Manning will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home 5-9 Saturday, 12-9 Sunday and 11:00 am-1:00 pm Monday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mark was born September 12, 1950 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Geraldine (Floto) Childs. He and Linda J. Hatfield were united in marriage November 11,1972 in Vassar. Mark was employed for over 20 years at Vassar Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and hunting. Surviving are his wife, Linda J. Childs of Millington; Children, Mark C. Childs and special friend Sue Smith of Frankenmuth, Amy L. Childs and special friend Ryan Pomeroy of Vassar; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Tyler and Hunter; 1 sister, Jill and husband Ron Barker of Florida; special sister-in-law Bonnie Childs of Hale; special niece and nephew, Dana and Tony Forney and Darin Childs all of West Branch; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Mike and Susan Holbin of Clio and Ron and Ruth Morris of Saginaw. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Connie Pennington and brother Ted Childs.
