Colburn, Roxann Lee (Hoover) age 55 of Vassar, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Roxann was born on June 17, 1953, to Wilbur and Dorothy Hoover of Tuscola. Roxann graduated from Vassar High School in 1971 and married Dennis Allen that same year. They were blessed with two sons, Matthew D. (Nicole Lang) Allen of Vassar, and Michael D. (Angela) Allen, currently stationed in South Korea with the United States Air Force.. After many years in an Administration career, Roxann enrolled in nursing school and graduated in 2004. She was able to work for several months in a nursing home which was her passion. Complications from diabetes forced her to give up that work, but she continued to be active in her church, the Watrousville United Methodist Church, where she served as a pianist and on different committees. In addition to her sons and daughter in law, Roxann is survived by four grandchildren who were the joy of her life; Jessica, and Lindsey Allen of Vassar, and Matthew H. and Alyssa Allen of South Korea. She has also come to love two additional children in her life, Rebecca and Madeline Lang. She is also survived by three brothers, Wayne (Barbara) Hoover, and Dan (Karen) Hoover, all of Vassar, and Ron (Janice) Hoover of DeWitt; a very special aunt JoAnn Freeland of Caro; several nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Ken Klimm of Westland, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar; Pastor Jim Payne will officiate, with burial to follow in Tuscola Cemetery. RoxannAaas family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Saturday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm, and on Monday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please consider contribution to the Watrousville United Methodist Church Building Fund, the Tuscola Community Church, or the Humane Society.
