Obituary of Theodore J. Crittenden

Of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at home with his companion Jean Letourneau and family. The Funeral Mass will take place 11:00am, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Tuesday Critt will be taken to church where he will lie in state from 10:00am until time of Mass at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Critt was born March 7, 1919 in Otisville, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Delia (Jones) Crittenden. He and Louise Shaber were united in marriage in 1939, at St. Mary, Mt. Morris. He was employed by Genesee County as a case worker for 35 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Critt leaves to cherish his memory two children: Susan and husband Richard Carrier, Michael and wife Carol Crittenden, 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, brother Dale and wife Jean Crittenden, two sisters Rosemary Brophy, and Sister Catherine Crittenden IHM, sister in law Ruth Crittenden, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise (1982), two sons Alfred, and Patrick and brother Carl.
