Obituary of Doreen Marie Knickerbocker
Age 87, died May 31, 2018, at Cranberry Assisted Living in Clio, Michigan. The funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 11:00 am. Her family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Monday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Tuesday, Doreen’s family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes are available at the funeral home, or at church.
Doreen was born in Swartz Creek, Michigan on March 2, 1931, to Clinton and Lottie (Chapman) Curtis. She and Paul Henry Knickerbocker were united in marriage on October 7, 1950. She worked as a farmer for many years and owned Knickerbocker Farms in Mt. Morris with her husband, Paul. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and working on the family farm.
Left to cherish Doreen’s memory, are her three children: Karla (Mark) Salvatore, Jeffrey (Laurie) Knickerbocker, and Kimberly (Steve) Jennings; seven grandchildren: Eric and Tara Salvatore, Shane Dhooghe, Adam (Amy) Dhooghe, Nathan (Laura Lupina) Dhooghe, Michael Jennings and fiancée Morgan Warda, and Nicole Jennings; four great-grandchildren: Alivia, Alyna, Chase, and Cooper; and several family members and friends.
Doreen was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul; her parents; her brother Mervin; and two sisters Elnor and Phyllis.
