Obituary of Stella Jean Crowell

Stella Crowell, age 87, of Clio died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 12:00 noon, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at noon. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Stella was born July 3, 1930, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Agnes (Jackson) Decator. She and George Crowell were united in marriage on October 1, 1966, in Flint. Sadly, George preceded Stella in death on October 31, 1979. Stella worked at Turnstead as a production worker for 23 years until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the UAW Local #326. In her free time, Stella enjoyed making crafts, costumes, and sewing. Left to cherish her memory are her son, William "Doug" (Cyndi); grandson, Matthew Paul; sisters: Ruth Sleeper, and Lyda Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, brothers: Frank Decator and Herbert Decator; and sisters: Dora Misner and Dorothy Turnwald.
