Obituary of Stanislaus Seigel

Seigel, Stanislaus age 86, of Flint, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Rev Jim James will officiate. StanleyAaas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, from 6:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm, followed by Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #158. Stanley was born August 5, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Stesania Sczygiel. He and Gladys Green were united in marriage April 1947. Stanley served his country in the United States Army, during World War II, where he was a P.O.W. in Germany. Upon his return to the US, he would go to work for General Motors SPO, where he was employed for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the UAW #659, and he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Gladys, two children, Stanley Seigel, and Kathy Nelson, three grandchildren, Heather and John Nelson, and Nick Seigel, two brothers, Anthony and wife Caroline Seigel, and Joe and wife Barbara Seigel, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Stella Franko, and Mary Stoick.
