Obituary of Ronald O'Dell

Of Flint, age 79, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at Heartland Hospice. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Michael Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park with Graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 158. Family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ron was born November 19, 1930 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram and Philena (Graham) O'Dell. He and Evelyn Lanter were united in marriage March 14, 1964. Ron served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked for General Motors for 31 years until he retired in 1981. Ron leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Evelyn; daughter, Jacqueline Farnsworth; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Harriet Beardslee; brother, Richard and wife, Jane. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly; sister, Helen; and long-time pet, Gypsy.
