Obituary of Robert Harold Hubbard

Of Clio, age 72, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. The memorial service will take place Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Cremation has taken place. Bob's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to University of Michigan Cancer Research Aaa Bladder Cancer. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Bob was born December 10, 1937 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Gretchen (Brietz) Hubbard. Bob proudly served in the United States Army for two years before receiving his Honorable Discharge on October 14, 1963. He and Julie Fenner were united in marriage April 18, 1964 in Oscoda. Bob worked for Buick for 41 years before retiring in 2004, and was a member of UAW Local #599. In his free time, Bob enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, bear hunting, NASCAR and Indy Car Racing, watching the Detroit Red Wings, attending his grandsons' hockey games, and flying. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 46 years, Julie; two children, Todd and wife, Sheryl Hubbard and Jill and husband, Kurt Kettler; four grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Michael Hubbard, and Audrey Kettler; brother, Dale and wife, Helen Hubbard; several family members, friends and beloved dog, Tank. He was preceded in death by his parents and several other family members.
