Obituary of Daniel St. James

Of Flint, age 56, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his home. The funeral service will take place 12:00noon, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Westwood Heights Church Free Methodist 3397 Windland Drive in Flint. Pastor Mitch Vader will officiate with burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Dan's family will be present at church to receive friends from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00noon. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family fund. Envelopes are available at church. Daniel was born January 30, 1954 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Joyce (Soper) St. James. Dan graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1973. He proudly served in the United States Army for three years before receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1983. In his free time, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, talking on his bluetooth, taking pictures, working on cars and watching Walker Texas Ranger and NCIS. Dan leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Rebecca and husband, Jonathan Goodman and Ashlee SaintJames and fiance, Dan Machir; five grandchildren, Liberty, Leila and Nadia Goodman, and Daniel, Jr. and Sidney Machir; mother, Joyce (Soper) Sparpanic and boyfriend, Dick Fisher, two sisters; Sally and husband, Allan Morse and Joanne and husband, George French; several family members, friends and church family; best friend, Mike Groulx; and special pets, his cat, Bubba and his dog, Gideon. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Edward Allen.
