Of Mt. Morris, age 71, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Fostrian Manor. The funeral service will take place, 11:00am, Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. GeorgeAaas family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday, from 1:00pm until 9:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. George was born January 29, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Sarah (Redding) Crawford. He and Sharri Lee Crawford were united in marriage September 6, 1986 in Mt. Morris. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2009. George proudly served in the Unites States Army. He worked for General Motors for 33 years before retiring October 1, 1996. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie FOE #3609, and a member of Local UAW Post #599. In his free time George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, deer hunting, camping, and spending time at the family cottage in Lewiston. George is survived by his three children; Barbara and husband Doug Robertson of Birch Run, Kendra and husband Bob Meuhlen of Mt. Morris and Janell and husband Tim Phillips of Angola, Indiana; three granddaughters; Nicole and Amanda Meuhlen and Devyn Phillips, one grandson, Ben; special daughter and granddaughter, Toni and Jessica Day, two brothers; Gerald and Dennis Crawford, several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharri Lee, grandson, Josh, and mother-in-law, Betty Vannest.
