Obituary of Helen R Stevens

Of Clio, age 74, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at home. The funeral service will take place, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Bible Baptist Church in Burton. Reverend David Miller will officiate with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and Wednesday, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. On Thursday, Helen will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Helen was born November 22, 1935 in Skyline, Alabama, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Eliza Jones. She and Johnnie Charles Stevens were united in marriage August 20, 1952. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Golden Age Group. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, tending to her roses, cooking, and she was the official family pie maker. Helen leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sheila and husband Joseph Hoyt, Deneen and husband Scott Munerance, five grandchildren, Shanna and husband Josh Anderson, Kassie Decker, Andrew and Ryan Munerance, and Lily Hoyt, three great-grandchildren, Addison and Nolan Anderson, and Trenton Rose, two sisters, Mageline Roberts, and Ruby Tate, dear sister-in-law, Charlsie Payne, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, sisters, Laura Jones, Kate Cowart, Pauline Wright, and brother Paul Jones.
