Obituary of Patricia Smith

Of Mt. Morris, age 52, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 29, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 2 at the North End Baptist Church, 7360 N. Clio Road in Mt. Morris, Pastor Steve Windle officiating with cremation to follow. Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday, November 1 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Those desiring may wish to make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or North End Baptist Church. Patricia was born in Flint on May 25, 1958, daughter of Ernest and Janett (Dresser) Walden. She married Thurlo Smith on August 20, 1977. She worked in the food service at Mt. Morris Schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren; making cards and crafts, scrap booking, watching the Detroit Pistons, cooking, and shopping. Patricia is survived by her mother, Janett Walden of East Jordan; husband, Thurlo Smith of Mt. Morris; 2 children, Randy Smith of Mt. Morris and Michelle (Ryan) Litwiller of Flint; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlynne Litwiller; 3 brothers, Tom (Kerrie) Walden and Paul Walden, both of East Jordan and Daryl (Dale) Walden of Mancelona; sister, Karen (Kevin) Thomas of East Jordan; brother-in-law, Tom Smith of Mt. Morris; 3 sister-in-laws, Janelle (Charles) Gray of Hamilton, Ohio, Terry (Tom) Adams of Byron, and JoLynn Elleman of Mt. Morris. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Walden, and father-in-law, Thurlo Smith.
