Of Mt. Morris, age 62, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at BrianAaas House Hospice. The funeral service will take place 3:00pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. KarenAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday, from 9:00am until time of funeral at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Brian's House - Davison. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Karen was born February 5, 1948 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Viola (Wynn) Jackson. She and Fred Hooper were united in marriage July 24, 1965. Karen, AaEThe Cake LadyAaA, was known for her love of baking and decorating cakes and biscuits. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being the life of the party, decorating cakes, watching sports and playing poker and Bingo. Karen leaves to cherish her memory, husband Fred, three children; Dawn Marie, Renee and William Hooper, three grandchildren; Madison, Phillip and Naythan, brother John and wife Ann Lafrancis, two sisters; Margo and husband Mike Kamrad and Virginia and husband Lloyd Rembowski and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Sonny and mother and father-in-law, Fred and Ruby.
