Obituary of Betty Marie Pederson

Of Vassar, age 68, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her home. Cremation has taken place. Please directly contact the family concerning memorial donations. Betty was born July 21, 1942 in Novi, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Pearl (Blackmer) Ward. She worked at the State home in Caro, tending to mentally challenged children; and Huron County Health Department, covering Huron, Bay, and Tuscola counties, performing in-home care for the elderly. She retired in 1993. Betty was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed other various crafts, as well as reading. Further, she was a ten year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, #629 in Flint, because she loved to dance. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Wright and son, Erik and Margaret Fry of Vassar; five step-children, Lucille and husband, Mike Payne, Dale and wife, Mary Pederson, Arthur and wife, Linda Pederson, Jr., Walter and wife, Brenda Pederson, Alton Ray and wife, Kathy Pederson; four grandchildren, Kathryn and Kristie Fry, and Gracelynn and Nathaniel Wright; two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Logan McCombs; special niece, Carol Irvine; special brother-in-law, Glen Reeves; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Edward Fry; latest husband, Arthur Pederson in 2002; three grandchildren, Brandon, Edward, and Donald Manwaring; and two step-children, Sally and John Pederson.
