Obituary of Wayne R. Boegner

Age 79, of Flint, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral services will take place 1:00pm, Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Mike Warren will officate. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park with Graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #158 of Clio. WayneAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm and again Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Wayne was born December 22, 1931 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Gertrude (Eckley) Boegner. He and Deanna Getts were united in marriage October 15, 1966. Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1955. His career would lead him to General Motors where he worked as a fork truck driver at Buick Plant 36 for over 31 years, prior to his retirement in 1979. He was a member of UAW Local #599. In his free time, Wayne loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, working as a small engine repairman and spending time with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Deanna, eight brothers and sisters; Alberta Fisher, Ernie and wife Dorothy Boegner, Joe and wife Barb Boegner, Elsie Watts, Norm and wife Clara Boegner, Evelyn Kelley, Janet and husband Benny Adams, and Eugene and wife Vivian Boegner, several nieces, nephews and cousins and numerous friends and hunting buddies. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
