Obituary of Margaret Klouse

KLOUSE, Margaret Of Vassar, age 96, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. The funeral service will take place, 11:00am, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar. Pastor James W. Naumann will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Thursday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. On Friday, Margaret will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be considered to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church or Hospice of Hope. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Margaret was born May 5, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Elizabeth (Paladi) Seres. She and Victor Klouse were united in marriage December 23, 1939 in Angola, Indiana. She worked as a nanny in New York after high school. After marriage, she worked on the family farm with her husband Victor. She also worked at the old Eaton Manufacturing, Beetle's Five and Dime, Shoemaker's Grocery, Google's, Buchman's Bakery, Uncle Ray's , was a dish washer for the Vassar Hotel worked in various bakeries in Frankenmuth, and babysat for the McClellan Family. She retired at the age of 83. She was active at St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church in Vassar with the Ladies Aide, helped with rummage sales, and delivered sermon tapes to the local shut-ins. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and baking and she was known for her butter horns. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, three children; Victor and wife, Coleen Klouse, Suzanne and husband, Gerald Heinlein, and Aaron and wife, Mary Klouse, 11 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Victor and grandson, Tommy Atkins.
