Obituary of Barbara Tarno

Of Flint, age 67, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at home. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Chaplin Goodman Cox will officiate with burial to follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm and then on Monday from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Genesee County Association For Retarded Children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Barbara was born April 1, 1944 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard and Alta (Good) Tarno. At the age of 23, Barbara's father died. A few years later, Alta was remarried to a good man by the name of Lesley "Art" Coffey. Art was an excellent step-father to Barbara. Barbara was a friend to everyone and she touched many hearts. She will be greatly missed. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Alta Coffey; two brothers, Willard and wife, Brenda Tarno and Henry and wife, Kathy Tarno; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard and step-father, Lesley "Art" Coffey.
