Obituary of William Robert Briley

Of Clio, age 83, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at home. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Raymond Cocke will officiate with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and on Wednesday from 12:00noon until time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the The American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. William was born November 25, 1927 in Moulton , Alabama the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodie and Pearlie (Greene) Briley. He and Catherine Richard were united in marriage August 4, 1951 in Iuka, Mississippi. William worked at Fischer Body Coldwater Road for 31 years as an inspector. He was a member of the UAW # 326. He retired in December of 1984. William leaves to cherish his memory his wife Catherine, two sons, James R. Briley of Charlotte, NC, and Michael A. and wife Janet Briley of Clio, one grandson, Anthony M. Briley of Saginaw, one niece, Linda F. and husband Junior Nix of Booneville, MS, and two nephews, Paul D. and wife Patsy Briley of Florence, AL, and Dexter and wife Kaye Briley of Florence, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Curtis Briley. The family would liked to extend a very special thanks to Dr. S. Kiran.
