Of Akron, age 88, died Monday, April 25, 2011 after a short illness at Bay Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Martin Funeral Home - Fairgrove. Pastor Bill Sanders will officiate with burial to follow in Wisner Township Cemetery. James' family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Fairgrove VFW Post# 7486. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. James was born June 13, 1922 in Wisner Township, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Maybel (Esckilsen) Brink. He and Dorothy Stephens were united in marriage January 18, 1947 in Wisner Township. James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting and horses. James leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Dorothy, daughter-in-law, Jill Brink, four children; Edward (Linda) Brink, Patricia (James) Issitt, Roger (Renee) Brink, and Jeffrey (Suzanne) Brink, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son, William, and grandson, Lane. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all their family and friends that called or visited James and to the entire staff at Heartland Health Care Center - Hampton for the wonderful care they gave.
