Obituary of Earlene Van Norman

Of Gladwin, age 72, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at her son's home. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Minister John Southern will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 12:00noon until 8:00pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Earlene was born April 20, 1939 in Arbela Township, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery and Florence (Ritter) Major. She and Ervin Van Norman were united in marriage October 12, 1957. Earlene worked for Steering Gear Automotive for 13 years, retiring on her birthday April 20, 1990. She loved bingo, cards, cooking, and her family. Earlene will be greatly missed. Earlene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 53 years, Ervin; two sons, Vincent and Brian; four grandchildren, Tina and husband, Melvin Kellog, Amanda Van Norman, and Dakkotah and Mckenzie Van Norman; two great-grandchildren; Melvin Jr. and Yazmin Kellog; and two sisters, Lorna and husband, John Mangold and Twillia Matthes. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Vaughn and Brent; and twelve siblings.
