Obituary of Lillian Nichols

Of Burton, age 83, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at home. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Pastor Gerald Hodgeson will officiate a private graveside service, according to her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Richfield Road Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Lillian was born August 27, 1927 in Spencer, Virginia the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Blanche (Vernon) Stone. She was born in Spencer, VA and moved to the Flint area in December 1945. She and Forest Nichols were united in marriage in October 1946. Lillian was a seamstress, very generous and a good Christian woman. She always took good care of her family, even with very little. Lillian will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. Surviving are children, Forest J. Nichols, Jr. and wife, Cheyanne, Marcella A. Richardson and husband, Donald, Thomas L. Nichols and wife, Kathy, Vernon L. Nichols and wife, Alynne; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Forest J. Nichols; and two grandchildren. The family wishes to express their appreciation to her next-door neighbor, Doug, for being a watchful eye and to her friend, Rick, for all the work he did for her.
